17 August 2020I new I made the right choice when on early testing the CFI safety pilot said “Oh my G--” on takeoff. We had never seen that before! We were climbing 1,800 fpm with a density altitude of 6,000 off the runway in a fully loaded rebuilt Glastar. I’ve flown off my 40 hours now and I still love this fast responsive TBI. To my surprise I’m also burning less fuel than similar Glastars. I figure about ¾ a gallon savings per hour. That may not sound too exciting but in 350 hours I will pay for my Rotec TBI in fuel savings. Hot restarts are no problem. And a big tip of my hat to Paul Chernikeeff at Rotec who rebuilt my TBI after a small engine fire (Yea, my fault totally). He sent a replacement rebuild before he even received mine. Great service.
