Developed specifically for earlier Jabiru 2200 Gen 1, 2 and 3 engines, the Rotec G4E conversion brings the advantages of modern all-aluminium cylinder and head architecture to the thousands of legacy engines already in service.

Inspired by the fundamental architecture of the later Jabiru Gen 4, but independently engineered by Rotec for compatibility with earlier engines, the G4E represents a substantial departure from the original steel-barrel and aluminium-head arrangement.

Rather than rebuilding and reconditioning ageing cylinders and heads, the G4E conversion provides an entirely new top end, incorporating new cylinder and head assemblies, forged pistons, upgraded valve gear and a comprehensive installation package.

THE G4E ENGINEERING ADVANTAGE

All-Aluminium Air-Cooled Architecture

The G4E adopts an all-aluminium cylinder and head configuration with precision-fitted steel cylinder liners. This modern arrangement is designed to improve heat transfer, reduce thermal disparities and provide more effective and consistent cylinder cooling.

Superior Head-to-Cylinder Interface

One of the most important aspects of the G4E design is the improved interface between the cylinder and combustion chamber. Rotec has engineered this interface to address the thermal and mechanical challenges associated with the original legacy Jabiru construction.

Modern Forged Pistons

The conversion incorporates new forged aluminium pistons with molybdenum-faced rings, wrist pins and retaining clips, providing a modern piston package designed for the G4E cylinder configuration.

Upgraded Valve Train

Complete inlet and exhaust valve assemblies, together with double valve springs, provide a comprehensive valve gear upgrade rather than relying on decades-old reconditioned components.

Designed for Legacy Jabiru Engines

Unlike the later factory Gen 4 assemblies, the Rotec G4E has been specifically engineered to accommodate the installation requirements of earlier Gen 1, 2 and 3 engines.

COMPLETE G4E 2200 CONVERSION PACKAGE

Each four-cylinder kit includes:

• 4 x complete G4E all-aluminium cylinder and head assemblies

• 4 x forged pistons, complete with moly rings, wrist pins and retaining clips

• Complete inlet and exhaust valve assemblies

• Double valve springs throughout

• Complete long cylinder stud kit, incorporating premium ARP nuts and washers

• Rocker covers and associated hardware

• Pushrod tubes, inlet and exhaust spigots, and the necessary conversion components

WHY REPLACE YOUR ENTIRE ENGINE?

Many older Jabiru 2200 engines retain perfectly serviceable crankcases, crankshafts, connecting rods and associated bottom-end components.

The Rotec G4E conversion offers owners the opportunity to retain these valuable components while replacing the entire top end with a newly engineered assembly.

The result is a compelling alternative to purchasing a replacement engine, particularly where the original bottom end remains in good mechanical condition.
